Client Reviews – NimTree Photo Safaris

Vivien W (New Zealand) – Orangutans and Wildlife of Indonesian Borneo – June 2023 (Rated ★★★★★)

As a solo traveller I was thrilled to find Nimtree.com. This was exactly what I had been searching for, a small group photography safari with a personal touch. From the moment Nilesh replied to my enquiry I knew Nimtree was a good choice. I would have to say the communication, the booking, the payment, and the organisation was perfect. Nilesh kept me well informed all the way. Being able to visit Tanjung Puting National Park in Indonesian Borneo and photograph the Orangutans in the wild was a heart-warming experience.  What an incredible photography opportunity this safari offers.

The number of Orangutans encountered was amazing, giving everyone ample opportunity to photograph these truly special animals. The Proboscis monkeys were easily seen in the trees along the river banks. They were challenging to photograph but entertaining to watch.  Spotted also were crocodiles, snake, numerous bird species, insects, and beautiful butterflies …… and not to forget the Gibbon Ape.  Just the four in our group including Nilesh our experienced safari leader.  Everyone was well cared for, the local food was super, accommodation was authentic and we had a dedicated local guide. Nilesh shared helpful photographic tips and recommendations, in a quiet encouraging way. Thank You Nilesh.  Highly recommended with 5 stars !

Masai Mara Photo Safari client review

We are a couple at the end of our 60s living in Europe. Wildlife photography has been a hobby of my wife’s and mine for a long time. We have made several individual photo trips to South Africa, Botswana and Kenya and so we got a lot of experience in the past.
This year we wanted to try something new. I made a research on the internet. We liked the information on the website as well as Nilesh’s experience and especially his photos, so I booked spontaneously the same day .Booking, information, payment, organization and communication with Nilesh was perfect.
On a safari in Africa we prefer to be in a private conservancy, because of off-roading and less other tourists, only in a very small group and with a professional photography tour leader. We got it all.

Porini lion camp was an ideal place, the member of the staff , all Masais, were very friendly and they did a perfect job. Also our two Masai guides were very experienced and they did a great job. The most important and the best was the care of our travel guide Nilesh who really organized everything perfectly. He has a great experience as a photographer, was always able to give us good tips and suggestions and last but not least, with his help we were to make much better photos than we could have done without his support.
We will definitely go on a safari again with NimTree Safaris and Nilesh Rathod and can therefore only warmly recommend both.

Customer Review

“We have just enjoyed a fantastic 8 day tiger photographic safari with NimTree. We were lucky enough to have several absolutely brilliant sightings of tigers and cubs, plus the real bonus of great sightings of 7 sloth bears (one at a waterhole and one marking his territory by standing up and scratching his back against the trees) and a leopard.

The keys to success were 1) going to the right National Parks (Tadoba and Kanha, in our case), 2) going with a company that has everything set up to achieve success – this included going to the right area of the Parks (they are very large!), having expert guides, and going at the right time of year. We went in May, which is hot, but bearable, and sightings of tigers are much more common than in the cooler months from February to March.

Another important feature of the trip was the accommodation and the meals – all of which were at the best hotels in the area.
I still cannot believe how lucky we were with our sightings of all the animals – although as you can see, not all of it was ‘luck’ – and I have no hesitation in recommending NimTree as a brilliant company to go with to photograph tigers in the wild.”

“I have just been on a Nimtree wildlife photographic tour of two of India’s tiger reserves. The tour itself was very well organised. The accommodation at Tadoba National Park at the IRAI safari resort was good however the Singinawa jungle lodge at Kanha National Park was excellent.

Customer Review

The staff could not have been more helpful and the food was first class. A lovely touch was the inclusion of two comprehensive mammal and bird field guide books in each room allowing you to confirm what you saw during the drives.

The parks themselves were fascinating with a wide variety of flora and fauna so even if tigers are not co-operating there is plenty other characters to entertain. The guides and drivers were very knowledgeable and can spot things whilst driving along that most people wouldn’t spot if stationary.

The beauty of it is the small group size allowing unobstructed views and plenty of room for equipment and to move around. If you have any photographic queries then there is help at hand to add to the experience.

For anyone keen on wildlife whether a photographer or not I can recommend this trip.”

Me and my husband went on Tiger Photo safari with Nimtree Safaris, covering Tadoba and Kanha, two of the very famous National parks in central India for tiger photography.
These places are home to Tigers, leopards, Sloth bears, deers, langoors and other wildlife/birdlife.
Nimtree.com recommended Summer in India as opposed to winters so that we could spot and photograph wildlife and we did see 13 Tigers, 4 Leopards, 3 Sloth Bears, pack of wild dogs, Bison and lot of other animals/birds !
My husband is not a photographer but he enjoyed nature and sighting of animals in the natural habitat.
We were fortunate enough to be accompanied by the experienced safari leaders of Nimtree. Nilesh lives in  United Kingdom but has his roots in Nagpur(India). This made it easy for us to be able to interact with guides and drivers and to spot tigers.
Nimtree.com planned out the entire itinerary really well, our accommodations were at best resorts especially at Singinawa Jungle Lodge in Kanha National Park.
Being living in concrete jungle all my life it was a dream come true for me, I had never lived so close to nature.
I will definitely recommend Nimtree to my friends and family and to anyone looking to photograph Tigers in the wild.

After the grand success we had on our Tiger tours in India, me and my husband decided to go again with Nimtree to Masai Mara. Our safari leader, Nilesh, was fantastic(Thank you). Nilesh gave us lot of helpful tips and was very honest during photo critique session. Wildlife was in abundance at Masai Mara.I have captured best wildlife photographs of my lifetime. We had breakfast watching Hippos in the river.
The setting of the camp is beautiful and the staff were very attentive. Kudos to our chef and staff for preparing some of the most delicious and moist meats of our trip.  Our tent was nice comfy and very specious. By the way, NO mosquitoes during our stay in Masai Mara. A huge plus!
